Heavenly Herb Gardens
One of the easiest ways to introduce fresh ingredients into your diet is to start a herb garden.
Especially if space is limited, you want to save money on your groceries and you don’t necessarily have a green thumb.
Here are a few easy ways to get started:
1) Sun is essential. Find a place that gets at least 8 hours of sun a day.
2) Decide what kinds of herbs you want and consider buying seedlings versus seeds which may save you some time,
particularly if this is your first time growing them.
3) Get pots that allow enough space for roots, better to overestimate.
4) Obtain soil for containers rather than garden soil.
5) Choose some herbs that are easy to manage – e.g. chives that you’ve bought can easily be placed in water for 2 days where
you will see the roots start to grow and then you can transplant. Similarly with basil, place a cutting in water and it will start to grow roots
and then transplant.
So try it out, exercise that green thumb and share your experience.
