One of the most exciting things about joining a CSA, going to a farmers market or even exploring the supermarket is discovering fruits and vegetables you have never seen before and have no idea how they taste.
So this week there were some newbies for me in my CSA suprise basket- dandelion greens, garlic scapes, patty pan squash and mustard greens. The latter, however, truth be told I have inadvertently tried since it somehow mysteriously found its way into my green smoothie and let’s just say – hot in, hot out.
If you’re the adventurous type and trying to keep things simple and healthy, I would recommend experimenting and keeping it fresh.
So this week let me introduce:
1) Sauteed dandelion greens with garlic scapes and shallots.
2) Tomato basil salad with a twist and
3) Simple Quinoa
